Who We Are
Jaya Translation Services (JTS) was founded in 1995 by a Dutchman and an Irishman who recognized an emerging demand for quality translation services. Operating out of Greater Jakarta, the two native speakers of Dutch and English set the quality benchmark we uphold to this day.
Now, 30+ years later, JTS — operating under CV Wormer Jaya — serves UN agencies and multinational companies across Indonesia, in the languages and subject areas that matter most to them: Indonesian and English.

Interpreting Services
JTS provides professional interpreting services between Indonesian and English. We offer both simultaneous interpreting and consecutive interpreting.
Real-time interpretation delivered as the speaker speaks, suited to conferences, plenary sessions, and large-scale meetings where pace and flow are essential.
Interpretation delivered after the speaker completes a passage, suited to smaller meetings, interviews, workshops, and field settings where a more conversational dynamic is appropriate
For assignments requiring simultaneous interpreting, JTS coordinates the full technical setup: interpretation booths, receiver units, and technician support. We also support remote and hybrid formats for organizations whose participants join from multiple locations

The quality of a translation or interpreting assignment begins and ends with the people who carry it out. At JTS, that means a carefully maintained roster of translators and interpreters — not a marketplace of freelancers, but a selected group of professionals we know, have worked with, and trust
Our lead translator brings direct institutional experience to every assignment: prior to joining JTS full-time, he served as an in-house translator at UNDP Indonesia for five and a half years — working daily inside the documentation, reporting, and communications workflows of one of the UN system’s largest country offices. That background informs not just linguistic output, but an understanding of what international organizations actually need from their translated materials.
Our interpreters are seasoned professionals with experience in UN agency conferences, government settings, and corporate environments. They combine subject-matter familiarity with the composure and discretion that high-stakes assignments demand — whether in a plenary session or a community field interview.
For Translators & Interpreters
JTS maintains a carefully selected roster of translators and interpreters. We are not looking to fill vacancies — we are looking for the right professionals, and we expand our roster accordingly
We work with specialists, not generalists: people who know the difference between a logframe and a results matrix, between a notarial deed and a court ruling, between conference-floor protocol and a community field interview.
What we look for in translators
Native or near-native command of Indonesian and English, with demonstrated active professional use in both
Subject-matter expertise in at least one of our core fields: international development, legal, technical, or financial
Source-text fidelity without sacrificing natural expression in the target language
Familiarity with CAT tools and standard file formats used in professional translation workflows
What we look for in interpreters
Proven consecutive and/or simultaneous interpreting experience in UN agency, government, or corporate settings
The stamina and composure that long sessions, dense subject matter, and senior audiences require
Discretion — our interpreters work inside meetings that are often sensitive in nature
